AEW Dynamite will celebrate its fifth anniversary on October 2, and it has been quite a ride. Tony Khan’s company's flagship show has given WWE a run for its money at times with its matches and moments over the years.
Over the last few years, many moments have wowed the fans. Chris Jericho's imprint is all over it from his time in the Inner Circle. Also, Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega have had a say in making watching AEW Dynamite special.
From the debut of WWE Hall of Famer Sting to Cody Rhodes jumping off the top of the steel cage, in this article, we will look at five jaw-dropping moments from AEW Dynamite over the last five years.
#5. Jon Moxley tricks the Inner Circle
The Inner Circle and Chris Jericho were the premier heels in the company for a long time, and that was when The Ocho was the world champion. He had a lot going for him, but the one thorn in his side was Jon Moxley.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
So when Moxley decided to join the Inner Circle, the fans were shocked and, at the same time, disappointed. With the champagne pulled out and about to pop open, it all turned out to be a ruse as the former Shield member used it to attack Jericho.
To make matters worse, Moxley went away with Jericho’s expensive sports car.
#4. Fans sing Chris Jericho's Judas theme song
Chris Jericho had quite the theme song for years before he became the Learning Tree. He used to walk out to the song Judas, written by his band Fozzy.
Because the tune was so catchy, it caught on with the fans, who sang along each time he walked out.
This one time in Texas, when he was going to take on MJF, the fans in Houston, Texas, sang along to the song.
It was so good that the entire arena serenaded to the legend and even had the lyrics to songs on their phones.
#3. Kenny Omega wins the AEW Title
Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley had quite the rivalry in AEW. The two men have targeted each other since the former WWE man debuted at the first Double or Nothing.
In 2020 at Dynamite: Winter is Coming, Omega took on Moxley for the AEW World Title, and Don Callis helped his protege win after he handed him a microphone to knock Moxley out.
#2. CM Punk calls MJF a less-famous Miz
CM Punk’s time in AEW was marred by controversy and a few suspensions. He did have some memorable matches with some noted rivals, but none came close to the one he had with MJF.
Before CM Punk was about to take on QT Marshall, MJF came out to the ring, and the two men engaged in a war of words. A lot of barbs were thrown, but one thing that stood out was when Punk called MJF a less famous Miz. That had the entire arena in shock.
#1. Cody Rhodes hits a moonsault from the top of the cage
Quite possibly the biggest OMG moment in AEW Dynamite history. While Cody Rhodes did not win the big one during his time there, he did manage to lift the TNT Championship three times. He also had great matches; one was the company's first-ever steel cage match.
The WWE star took on Wardlow and won the match convincingly. However, the one moment that stood out and got him the win was when he climbed to the top of the cage and hit a moonsault on his opponent. He then pinned him to pick up the win as the crowd was still shocked.
