He is a former NXT Champion, NXT North American Champion, and AEW World Tag Team Champion.

Lee was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, USA on November 8, 1984. Her grandmother was the reason he started watching pro wrestling and became a fan of the sport, just like her Nana. She also became a source of inspiration for Lee to pursue a career inside the squared circle. He attended Texas A&M University and partook in College Football before deciding that he would shift his focus entirely to pro wrestling.

He made his indie debut in 2005 under the name Kevin Paine. By 2008, he started working under his real name, a thing he has done since then. In the next ten years, he worked for promotions such as Xtreme Championship Wrestling, Evolve Wrestling, and Ring of Honor. He was signed by WWE in 2018 and was signed to NXT.

In the next year, he became the big boy of NXT and did wonders at Survivor Series, where he was the last superstar to be eliminated by SmackDown’s Roman Reigns. He then entered the Royal Rumble match and went toe-to-toe with the likes of Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar. He then won the NXT North American Championship and also the NXT Championship at once in 2020.

He relinquished the former title and lost the latter to Karrion Kross in August, leaving NXT. After sporadic feuds on RAW, Lee was released by WWE in November. He joined AEW in 2022, where he won the AEW World Tag Team Championship once alongside Swerve Strickland. He has also made a return to ROH as a member of the AEW roster.
