Lance Hoyt, aka Lance Archer, has changed his ring name several times, changing either the suffix or the prefix. His time spent as Lance Rock and Vance Archer with Impact Wrestling (TNA) and WWE, respectively, are also well-known; he wrestles for the NJPW as well.
He began his wrestling career in 2000 and was employed by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) between 2004 and 2009 as "Dallas," winning the NWA World Tag Team Championship twice alongside Kid Kash.
In 2008, he once again changed his name to Lance Rock. After joining TNA, Dallas Page changed his identity to Lance Hoyt and formed the Rock N Rave Infection, a tag team with a rock band motif, along with Jimmy Rave and Christy Hemme.
After leaving TNA, Hoyt signed with WWE, where he was Vance Archer until 2010. He signed a contract to become Lance Archer for the NJPW after leaving the WWE. During his early years, he was a member of Minoru Suzuki's Suzuki-Gun, and in 2011, the two of them won the G1 Tag League.
Between 2014 and 2019, Archer and Davey Boy Smith Jr.'s tag team, Killer Elite Squad (KES), won two IWGP Tag Team Championships, two NWA World Tag Team Championships, and two NOAH's GHC Tag Team Championships.
After Smith left the promotion in 2019, Archer captured the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. He won the title once more in 2021, tying the record. Although Archer kept making appearances for NJPW, All Elite Wrestling formally recognized him as a member in February 2020.
