An AEW star recently provided an unfortunate update on his health. The star in question is Cole Karter.
The 24-year-old is a regular on Ring of Honor and his last match was at ROH HonorClub tapings on 8th June. Karter teamed up with Griff Garrison and Anthony Henry to defeat The Infantry (Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo) and Serpentico in a trios match.
On X/Twitter, Cole Karter revealed that he had gotten surgery on his broken arm and promised to return to action soon:
"First ever surgery on a broken arm in the books! I’ll be back soon & better than ever"
Vince Russo claims AEW could be forced to move to YouTube
All Elite Wrestling currently has a contract with Warner Bros. Discovery which is set to expire soon. The company has yet to ink another deal with WBD for their television programs. The promotion recently recorded its lowest rating for an episode of AEW Dynamite which could put their talks with WBD in jeopardy.
Speaking on a recent episode of the WrestleBinge podcast, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo claimed that Tony Khan may have to take his shows to YouTube if the deal with WBD does not work out.
"Maybe it is the rights deal, you know, maybe they don't get one, you know. I mean that definitely bro is a game changer and you know, we're getting closer and closer to the end of the year bro. There's no deal made. We know that Warner Discovery did not talk about them at the Upfronts which is huge and if there's not a TV deal. There's not a streaming deal, what are you going to do? You going to put the show on YouTube." [5:35 - 6:06]
Tony Khan never shies away from putting over AEW despite the backlash from many veterans. It will be interesting to see how things shape up between the company and WBD in the future.
