A young prospect claims that he's not interested in joining AEW. However, he wants to face a top star in the promotion.
Yuya Uemura is one of NJPW's fastest-rising stars. In the absence of Kazuchika Okada, who joined All Elite Wrestling this year, Uemura is planning to fill those big shoes. He already got off to a solid start in the G1 Climax tournament with wins over David Finlay, Hirooki Goto, and Konosuke Takeshita.
With these notable wins, Uemura is on the fast track to becoming one of the biggest stars in NJPW. Currently, Uemura is on top of the B-block in the G1 Climax with six points.
Given his recent success, he did an interview with Tokyo Sports where he claimed he's not interested in Tony Khan's promotion but he wants to wrestle Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.

"I want to win the IWGP [World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 19] and nominate Kazuchika Okada [for Wrestle Dynasty]. I'm not interested in AEW, but I'm interested in Okada," Uemura said. [H/T Fightful]
Trevor Lee is interested in AEW
Trevor Lee wrestled under the ring name Cameron Grimes in WWE for several years. While he gained a lot of traction in NXT, his main roster run is best forgotten. He was barely used on the main roster despite his popularity and was eventually released from the promotion.
During a virtual signing at K&S Wrestlefest, Trevor Lee mentioned that he is interested in every wrestling company in the world, especially All Elite Wrestling.
“I have interest in absolutely every company. But, I do have interest in AEW. Why wouldn’t I? It’s doing what they’re supposed to do and it’s shocking the culture and it’s stirring up a firestorm that is the new era of wrestling so, of course.” [H/T Cultaholic]
It remains to be seen if the former WWE star will make an appearance for Tony Khan's promotion in the future.
