AEW has notably welcomed many former WWE Superstars and legends, and now it seems that one notable name has been working in the Jacksonville-based promotion for quite some time.
Not every former WWE Superstar who walks into All Elite Wrestling ends up competing on screen. Veterans like Jeff Jarrett are the exception, as he initially seemed only to be a backstage role but has since become a frequent competitor.
In a recent interview with Wrestling With Johners, Scott Garland (best known as Scotty 2 Hotty) confirmed that he has been working behind the scenes in the promotion for an undisclosed time:
"I don't think it's a huge secret that I've been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes, as a coach and producer there. I have an opportunity to do more with them on a regular basis. It looks like at the beginning of the year, I'll be going pretty hard with them if everything works out the way I hope it does." (H/T: Fightful).

Garland was reportedly given a trial run as a producer and coach in July 2023 after leaving WWE in late 2021. Based on his comments, it seems things went well and he might have a full-time position in the promotion today.

The AEW coach/producer blames the 2020 releases for why he eventually left WWE
While he seems to be warming up to AEW as a producer and coach, Scott Garland held the same role in WWE not too long ago. However, the stint ended in a difficult parting after Garland became close to the talent he worked with.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the veteran explained why the mass releases affected him on a personal level:
"Once the pandemic happened and all the releases started happening, I think the releases took a big toll on me. When I became a coach, I had no idea how much I would love that job, and those guys are like your children."
Additionally, he recalled a conversation between him and a friend of his in Nashville, who told him about the releases. It seemed like this became an ongoing theme for him to find out on Twitter (X) or through friends, which ended up taking quite a toll on the veteran.
