A former WWE champion has now confirmed a major new role in the pro wrestling business. He recently departed from AEW.
Mark Henry is one of the greatest big men in the history of this business. He was a dominant force in the ring during his heyday. He first made a name for himself in WWE, capturing the World Heavyweight, ECW, and European titles.
After a successful WWE stint, Mark Henry joined AEW, where he played the role of a commentator on AEW Rampage and a coach. He announced his exit from the Tony Khan-led promotion in May 2024 after choosing not to renew his deal.
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Mark Henry confirmed that he was now a booker for All Caribbean Wrestling. The Hall of Famer announced that the promotion would be collaborating with MLW and mentioned that they were open to working with WWE in the future if the opportunity presented itself.
“I started booking and directing for All Caribbean Wrestling. We’re not an independent company, we put on classic shows, we put on elite-level shows internationally. It’s a lot of fun. We’re gonna do a versus with MLW coming up. The WWE said they were open for business, if they want to do business with me, I’d love to do something with them too. Any company out there that feels like they want to do a versus show with us, give us a call.” [H/T: Fightful]
Mark Henry on why Bianca Belair is competing in WWE's tag team division right now
Although Bianca Belair is an established singles star, she has been competing in the tag team division for several months now. The EST has formed a successful alliance with Jade Cargill, and together they even won the Women's Tag Team Championship.
During a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, Mark Henry mentioned that Belair being in the tag team division had given other women opportunities to pursue singles titles.
"Oh, yeah, most definitely [Belair and Cargill have benefited from teaming up]," Henry said. "Both of them. Bianca needed a tag situation and Jade needed to learn how to use the system to help her, and she's learning by osmosis a lot of times because she's watching Bianca, and Bianca is having second life and not having to be in a program with nobody major, so other girls are getting over. The girls, they're getting over because they're allowed to get over. Because if Bianca was a singles competitor, you would have to put the title on her or put her in the running for the title." It remains to be seen how long Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will continue their partnership.
