A 33-year-old AEW star outlined his intense daily routine during a recent interview. The talent in question is Powerhouse Hobbs.
The Embodiment of Willpower has been performing for the Tony Khan-led promotion since 2020 and is one of the most promising home-grown talents in All Elite Wrestling. Hobbs has been out of action due to injury since his IWGP World Heavyweight Title clash with Jon Moxley in April, although recent reports suggest that he could be on the verge of making his comeback.
AEW this week will return to the Bay Area as Dynamite will air from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA. Powerhouse Hobbs, during a media appearance on NBC Bay Area promoting the upcoming show, reflected on having performed and been present at All Elite events in venues in the Bay Area and spoke about memories of attending wrestling shows with his family members as a child.
"It's not our first time here in the Bay Area. Any time I get a chance to come home, I'm getting these feelings of when I was a young kid and I would go to these wrestling events with my grandparents. I get to do it in front of fans, family, and peers," Hobbs said.

Hobbs further detailed his rigorous daily routine and emphasized the physically demanding nature of the pro wrestling industry.
"I'm up at 5 in the morning. I eat, sneak out the house when my kids are sleeping, get in the gym for a couple of hours. Watch some footage, stretching, getting a massage, cryotherapy. A lot of preparation. We're 52 weeks a year. We don't have an off-season. We're on the road every single week, sometimes multiple days," said Hobbs about his training schedule.
Bully Ray on AEW's Powerhouse Hobbs joining The Hurt Syndicate
For quite some time now, rumors have been circulating of a prospective Hurt Business reunion in AEW. With both MVP and Shelton Benjamin having debuted in the Jacksonville-based company in recent weeks, and with Bobby Lashley supposedly under contract with the promotion as well, it seems like a matter of time before all three former WWE superstars officially inaugurate the faction - rumored to be called The Hurt Syndicate - on All Elite programming.
During a recent edition of Busted Open After Dark, Bully Ray seemed to voice his approval of Powerhouse Hobbs joining forces with MVP, Benjamin, and Lashley.
"Will [Powerhouse] Hobbs, I'd love to see that. Hobbs could definitely use a breath of fresh air."
The prospective Hurt Syndicate faction recently attempted to add former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland to its ranks at WrestleDream 2024. The latter, however, refused the offer, and it seems like The New Flavor may feud with the stable moving forward.
