A top star might be returning to AEW for a lengthy run after her recent announcement. The star in question is none other than Mina Shirakawa.
The STARDOM wrestler was last seen in All Elite Wrestling at the Forbidden Door PPV where she was unsuccessful in defeating Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship. However, it seems like Mina Shirakawa is gearing up for her return to the Jacksonville-based promotion, according to her recent statement.
Earlier today after her match at a STARDOM show, Mina Shirakawa announced that she'll be heading to America, which could also bring her back to All Elite Wrestling Television.
"Mina Shirakawa today said she is returning to America for a extended time. She’s returning to AEW TV!"
It will be interesting to see if Mina Shirakawa plays a role in Mariah May and Toni Storm's current heated storyline in All Elite Wrestling.
Athena claims she will return to AEW soon
Former WWE star Athena signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2022 and was later moved to the Ring of Honor brand. She defeated Mercedes Matrinez for the ROH Women's World Championship and recently passed 600 days as champion.
In a recent interview with Stephanie Chase, former NXT Women's Champion revealed that she's getting closer to returning to All Elite Wrestling and claimed that it's only a matter of time before she appears.
"It's something that Tony and I talk about quite a bit in person. It's like... OK, we did Battle of the Belts, you know, we're sprinkling it here and there. We've done pre-shows on multiple pay-per-views with myself and Billie Starkz, and Lexi Nair in there as well. I think it's just a matter of time," Athena said. [From 9:50 to 10:08]
