39-year-old star implies 'John Cena treatment' at upcoming AEW event

AEW is set to hold one of its upcoming events at a venue well-known in the industry. John Cena and other big names in the industry have appeared there in the past. QT Marshall has implied that he will get treatment like the WWE icon.

Later this month, the Tony Khan-led promotion will debut at the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, where they will be holding shows for a week. ROH will also hold the Final Battle pay-per-view at the same venue. In the wrestling world, the ballroom was home to ECW and ROH in the 2000s.

On X/Twitter, a fan mentioned how, in 2006, John Cena walked into ECW One Night Stand to a hostile crowd as he was "invading" the promotion on behalf of WWE. They wondered which member of the AEW roster would be given the same treatment this year. QT Marshall responded with a raised hand emoji, implying that he would be booed out by the Hammerstein Ballroom crowd.

The crowd was against QT Marshall at AEW Full Gear

QT Marshall returned to the company a few weeks ago at Full Gear as he competed against The Costco Guys' Big Boom AJ in a singles match featured on the pay-per-view's zero-hour pre-show.

Seeing as AJ, his son Big Justice, and The Rizzler were massively over with the crowd, their reception towards QT was the opposite. He enjoyed playing his bad guy role during the match but eventually fell to The Costco Guys after AJ hit him with a Powerbomb for the win.

This was an incredible moment as no one expected an internet personality who has not wrestled in 20 years to pick up a monumental victory in his AEW debut.

Should QT Marshall be in a similar match to his match against Big Boom AJ at Full Gear, he may get some hostility from the crowd. However, seeing as AJ is recovering from an injury he sustained during their match, Marshall may not get the moment he wants.
