4-time WWE champion could sign with AEW for blockbuster match against Mercedes Mone, according to veteran

Mercedes Mone has been a dominant champion in AEW. However, a wrestling veteran believes a former WWE champion could sign with All Elite Wrestling to feud with The CEO.

Tommy Dreamer is the latest to comment on Mercedes Mone's future in the Jacksonville-based company. The CEO has been on a dominant run since her AEW debut last year. She now holds three title belts and has defeated everyone in her path. However, Mone is running out of opponents in Tony Khan's promotion, and Dreamer believes that Beth Phoenix could be the perfect person to feud with The CEO.

The Glamazon is no longer an active competitor, but she occasionally sets foot in the ring. Her last match took place at WWE Elimination Chamber 2023, when she teamed up with her husband, Adam Copeland, to face the team of Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer made the case for Beth Phoenix to feud with Mone. He suggested that the former WWE star could appear in AEW to help her husband against The Death Riders. From there, he said that she could then pivot and end up feuding against the TBS Champion. Dreamer also believes that this feud will draw a large crowd.

"It's hard to think of mega matches that can help draw such a large crowd. We had talked about it before, if she's introduced the right way, Beth Phoenix, showing up in AEW, helping out her husband, and then ships crossing in the night — Mercedes Mone and Beth Phoenix kinda having something-something. Backstage or something, which could lead to a bigger, one-on-one, you never know what that could get to," Dreamer said.

The ECW legend added:

"I'm just trying to think of money matches that are out there, and that are left for — when you have a dominant champion, 15-0, and has defeated a lot of women, left a lot of people in her wake. Just thinking of main event stuff to try to fill really big [shoes]." [H/T WrestlingInc]

Konnan says that Mercedes Mone is not entertaining

While Mercedes Mone has been dominating the world of women's wrestling, some harsh criticism has been thrown her way. Many fans and critics have criticized her promos for being boring and lacking personality. A perfect example of this was the promos she cut during her feud with Britt Baker. Many fans believed that the promo fell flat and wanted to see an improvement from the TBS Champion.

Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 Official podcast, Konnan said that Mercedes Mone is redundant even though she wrestles frequently. The veteran added that Mone is less entertaining than some of her contemporaries.

"Here's the problem with Mone. She's become kind of redundant even though when she wrestles, she has matches. But her character is very redundant. She's not entertaining like let's say a Kevin Owens or MJF or a Christian. She's just not entertaining. The best part of her thing is her gear and what color and design is in her hair, and I almost feel like Tony's like, 'I'm paying her too much money. She has to be out there every show plus she has name value.'"

It will be interesting to see if Beth Phoenix will show up in AEW to compete in the ring and even feud with Mercedes Mone.
