40-year-old AEW star teases coming after Will Ospreay: "I feel very naked without a certain championship"

Will Ospreay has a target on his back as AEW's International Champion, with a former opponent eyeing his title. When asked about his aspirations during a recent interview, Orange Cassidy mentioned having another crack at winning the belt.

Orange Cassidy is the longest reigning International Champion (fka All-Atlantic Championship). His 326-day title reign ended one year ago at All Out.

While the 40-year-old star has been featured prominently since then, Orange Cassidy recently admitted that his backpack felt empty without a championship. Cassidy has undeniably legitimized the International Championship, and he eventually wants another run with the title.

While speaking with Kevin Kellam on Q101, Orange Cassidy revealed that while he might have held onto the International Title a little longer than expected last time around, he wishes to do even better if he wins it again.

Cassidy, however, acknowledged Will Ospreay as one of the best wrestlers in the world and said that a potential title change would be daunting. Cassidy previously lost to Ospreay at Forbidden Door 2022, where they battled for the IWGP US Heavyweight Title.

"Moving beyond that, I feel my backpack is empty, and I feel very naked without a certain championship in there. So, obviously, when the time is right, I will probably go back after the International Championship and try to see if I can top myself, which would be pretty hard because one of the best wrestlers in the world is holding that championship right now, Will Ospreay." Orange Cassidy credits Jon Moxley for helping him realize a memorable AEW moment

As mentioned earlier, Orange Cassidy was AEW's International Champion for over 300 days, a reign that ended at the hands of Jon Moxley.

Cassidy and Jon headlined All Out 2023 in Chicago after a pretty turbulent phase for the company. Orange lost the title to Moxley but received rousing applause from the crowd for his efforts.

Recalling the emotional moment, Orange Cassidy credited Jon Moxley for bringing out a different side of him during their match. Cassidy had never imagined getting a standing ovation from a packed wrestling crowd, and he will forever be grateful to AEW and the fans of Chicago for making it happen.
