AEW president Tony Khan has wasted little time in snapping up great wrestlers on the independent scene. That's how he's operated his company ever since its inception.
The duo of Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum, also known as the Outrunners, appear on All Elite Wrestling's programming every so often. There were rumors that they were signed up with AEW, but they have come out to refute them.
Turbo Floyd, who won five championships in Ohio Valley Wrestling, was a guest on the Wrestling with Rip Rogers show when he said that his team had not signed with Tony Khan’s company:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
“We heard the rumor. Mark Henry came on here and said we were signed two months after our debut there, which was a couple of years ago. I wish somebody informed me. No, we are not at the moment.” [H/T Ringside News]
It will be interesting to see what is next for the Outrunners after this new revelation.
Jim Ross reveals when his AEW contract is set to expire
Speaking of contracts, AEW commentator Jim Ross has revealed the date his contract with the company is set to end, and it is not that far away.
Ross was speaking on his Grilling JR podcast when he mentioned that February 14th is the date his current deal expires. He also revealed that he would like to sign a new contract and finish his career in the young promotion.
“I’d like to finish up in AEW. I got to be realistic about things, Connie. We talk about these birthdays, and I’m the same age as [Nick] Saban and [Bill] Belichick and all these cats. I love working there.” [H/T Ringside News]
With Jim Ross slowly becoming more active after recovering from skin cancer and radiation treatments, it looks like only a matter of time before he resumes his regular duties at the commentary desk.
