AEW Forbidden Door 2024 showcased several hard-hitting and fast-paced matches, including Bryan Danielson vs. Shingo Takagi. Danielson's long-time rival, Zack Sabre Jr., recently made some interesting comments about him.
Danielson and Takagi locked horns in a quarterfinal match of the Men's Owen Hart Cup. They battled for 20 minutes before The American Dragon defeated the NJPW star via submission. The 43-year-old will now face PAC in the semifinals of the tournament on AEW Dynamite: Beach Break 2024.
Interestingly, at the same pay-per-view, English-born wrestler Zack Sabre Jr. faced Orange Cassidy in a singles match. The 16-minute bout ended with Sabre's triumph. In the post-show media scrum, the 36-year-old spoke of the possibility of facing Danielson in a dream rematch. The two have squared off multiple times in the past, and watching them perform is a visual treat for many fans.
In the same chat, Zack Sabre Jr. also jokingly called the former Danielson a "pervert" for wrestling. The 6 ft 1 in was convinced that he and the former WWE Champion would have another match in England.

"Our first match was in England. We had a rematch in Germany that’s somewhat forgotten, and then we had the match at WrestleDream in Japan. I know that Bryan says he’s winding it down, but he’s a pervert so I can’t imagine. In a wrestling sense, that’s not against his character. We at least have to have one more match in England," Sabre Jr. said.
Zack Sabre Jr. also commented on the concept of AEW Forbidden Door
Zack Sabre Jr. has featured in previous iterations of Forbidden Door. At the event's inaugural edition, he lost to Claudio Castagnoli in a singles match. Last year, he was involved in a four-way bout with Orange Cassidy, Katsuyori Shibata, and Daniel Garcia for the AEW International Championship.
At the post-Forbidden Door media scrum, the 36-year-old appreciated the concept of the pay-per-view. Sabre Jr. said its latest edition was special because it featured wrestlers from STARDOM and CMLL.
“So I think — like I’m so motivated as a British wrestler now because now, it’s unparalleled. Like, Forbidden Door at first was somewhat forbidden. Now it’s slightly naughty. But what’s special about this year is that we have STARDOM and CMLL involved."
Zack Sabre Jr. added that the pro wrestling industry was undergoing a major transformation, and he wanted to be a significant part of it.
