An absent AEW star has provided a worrying health update. He hasn't competed in All Elite Wrestling since November 2023.
Kota Ibushi is arguably one of the greatest Japanese pro wrestlers of all time. He is known for his raw intensity and brutal kickboxing skills, which he unleashes on his opponents during matches. Ibushi is also good friends with AEW EVP Kenny Omega and has teamed up with him in the past. He wrestled in multiple matches for the company before officially joining the roster in November 2023.
The 42-year-old's last bout for the Tony Khan-led promotion took place on the November 15, 2023, episode of Dynamite, where he teamed up with Paul Wight, Chris Jericho, and Kenny Omega to take on Brian Cage and The Don Callis Family. Since then, he hasn't made any appearances on the company's programming.
Kota Ibushi recently took to X/Twitter to share details of his scary ankle injury. He also discussed his rehabilitation process and the issues he had been facing.

"I have a strange feeling in my left ankle. The inner ankle? It's missing! I wonder if there's a way to fix this as quickly as possible. I've tried a lot of different things. [I'm still undergoing rehabilitation at the hospital] Does anyone know?" Translated from Japanese by Google.

AEW EVPs The Young Bucks recently taunted Kota Ibushi
In recent months, The Young Bucks have embraced their dark side. They have also cut ties with some of their long-time friends. The Bucks recently kicked Kenny Omega out of The Elite and replaced him with Kazuchika Okada. They also added Jack Perry to the group.
Kota Ibushi celebrated his birthday on May 21. AEW's X/Twitter shared a graphic to mark the occasion. The Young Bucks caught wind of the post and sent a birthday message to Ibushi while reminding him that they were his bosses.
“Happiest of birthdays from your EVPs!”

We at Sportskeeda Wrestling hope that Ibushi can quickly recover from his ankle injury and return to the ring soon.
