The New Day storyline has been one of the major acts on WWE television in recent weeks. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods kicked out Big E last week, and AEW star Keith Lee recently seemingly sided with the former WWE Champion. Lee has been out of action since December 2023.
Last week, WWE celebrated The New Day's 10th anniversary on Monday Night RAW. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods thanked fans for sticking by their side. However, the duo was shocked by the surprise return of Big E, who has been out of action since March 2022 due to a broken neck.
This wasn't the only shocker during the segment, as Kingston and Woods turned on the 38-year-old and blamed him for all their shortcomings during his hiatus. Kingston and Woods then kicked Big E out of The New Day. This week's Monday Night RAW saw the heels attempt to explain their actions. However, the hostile crowd did not let them speak. The WWE Universe booed The New Day out of the building and vehemently chanted Big E's name.
Meanwhile, WWE star Michin recently posted a photo on X (Twitter) with Keith Lee, Big E, and the 38-year-old's girlfriend, Kris Yim. The SmackDown star's post seemingly indicated that Keith Lee was in Big E's corner after the questionable actions of Woods and Kofi.
"Team Big E ALWAYS!" she wrote.
Tommy Dreamer loved the twist in The New Day's storyline
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turning their backs on Big E was a move that nobody saw coming. Many predicted that Woods would turn on Kingston. The turn of events left everyone stunned.
Meanwhile, in the latest edition of the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Tommy Dreamer praised last week's twist and also loved the follow-up segment on last night's RAW.
"I'll praise this segment even more. Last week, I never saw it coming. I never saw Kofi [Kingston]. I never saw Kofi believe in [Xavier] what Woods was saying and turning heel on Big E. It was great. I loved every second of it. The follow-up was even better," Dreamer said.
We will have to wait and see what Triple H has in store for the faction in the coming days.
