WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland confirmed today that he suffered an injury at AEW Double or Nothing 2024. Now, a three-time TNT Champion has teased returning to action to claim The Rated-R Superstar's vacant title.
Sammy Guevara has been absent from AEW television since February. The 30-year-old was suspended after a controversial match with Jeff Hardy, but that suspension was reported to have been lifted early this month. Still, The Spanish God has not appeared, even as his fellow Pillars, MJF, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry, all made their returns in recent weeks.
WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland experienced a disappointing end to his second TNT Championship run this past Sunday. The Rated-R Superstar fractured his tibia in a leap from the top of the cage during his match against Malakai Black at Double or Nothing 2024.
Fans are throwing out several names as potential contenders for the TNT Championship, and Sammy Guevara has now thrown his hat in the ring. The Spanish God took to X today to post a picture of himself holding the title.

Adam Copeland confirms injury at AEW Double or Nothing
In a hair-raising Barbed Wire Cage Match at AEW Double or Nothing 2024, Adam Copeland managed to defend his TNT Championship against Malakai Black with the help of Gangrel. This is despite Copeland taking a nasty leap from the top of the cage.
Fans were immediately concerned after they saw The Rated-R Superstar land awkwardly on his feet. It seems that those fears were justified, as Copeland confirmed on X today that he fractured his tibia:
"I've been feeling really good lately, been having so much fun in the ring, and I got c*cky. My brain forgets what my body always seems to remember a little late: that I'm 50, and I need to make better choices, so my body pulled the emergency brake on me the other night, and I ended up fracturing my tibia, which is gonna require surgery. I don't know the time frame on that yet. I'll find out the time frame next week, and I'll see you soon," he said.
At 50 years old, Copeland has been on a run in AEW that few expected. He's defended his TNT Championship in an open challenge series, dubbed the Cope Open, for months, but that will have to be put on hold while he recovers. In the meantime, it seems that several AEW stars are scrambling to get their hands on the TNT title.
