Adam Cole has just won his second straight match since his return to the ring after more than a year after he bested a former WWE Superstar tonight on AEW Dynamite. This would be Malakai Black.
Last week, he made his in-ring return for the first time since September 2023 when he faced Buddy Matthews in a singles match. This was a tall task for him as he did not have full faith in his body following the significant injury he sustained, but eventually, he pulled through and scored the win.
Tonight was a similar story against a more difficult opponent in the leader of the House of Black. Malakai proved this was true indeed as he even came close to defeating Cole moments ago.
At a point in the match, Malakai was able to connect with his finisher, The End, and this resulted in a near three-count. Adam Cole was able to pull through as he picked up momentum moments later. After hitting an array of moves, he had Black open for the kill.
Surprisingly, instead of retaliating, Malakai Black just stood with his back turned on him. He was seemingly allowing Adam Cole to hit him with his finisher. Cole obliged and scored his second straight win since his return and he is just one more win away from earning a match against MJF at Full Gear.
