AEW star Adam Cole talked about his return at the WrestleDream pay-per-view. His last appearance before showing up at Tacoma Dome was at Double or Nothing in May.
The 35-year-old star was sidelined after he injured his ankle at Grand Slam: Dynamite last year. While he wasn't cleared, he still made appearances after being revealed as the Devil. He was attacked by MJF back in May and was not seen again until October 2024.
The Panama City Playboy confronted MJF and received a massive pop from the crowd. The former also revealed that he was finally medically cleared. He has been trying to get his hands on Maxwell, but the duo have yet to confront each other face to face. Despite being a heel due to the devil saga, he returned as a babyface as he saved Daniel Garcia from the former AEW World Champion.
While speaking with TVInsider, Adam Cole admitted that he was insecure before returning to WrestleDream because he had been out for a long time, but the audience's reaction at Tacoma Dome made him happy.

"You hope the audience remembers you and cares about you being back. It wasn’t until a few weeks prior that I got the official confirmation I would be good to go for this event. For the audience to be so excited and elated filled my heart with a ton of joy. It was just a confirmation that for all the hard work people do support me and have my back, which was really cool," he said. (H/T Inside The Ropes)
Buddy Matthews calls Adam Cole 'fragile'
The 2022 Owen Hart Cup winner wrestled his last match at All Out 2023. He is slated to face Buddy Matthews on the upcoming Fright Night Dynamite after the House of Black member called him out.
Recently, Matthews took to X/Twitter and called Cole ''fragile". The former also claimed that he wants the 35-year-old star to prove him wrong.
"I have nothing but respect for @AdamColePro- but let’s face it, he’s not the Adam Cole of Old. This New Adam Cole is 'Fragile' - I want him to prove me wrong! Sadly I don’t think he can," he wrote.
It will be interesting to see who will emerge victorious in their singles contest next week.
