Just moments ago, Adam Cole made a successful return to the ring after more than a year, beating Buddy Matthews in singles competition. However, immediately after the match, it seems his next major opponent has made his presence known.
This would be Malakai Black, the second member of the House of Black showing interest in Cole.
After a hard-fought victory, the former NXT Champion got a mic and gave credit to Matthews for not only pushing him to the limit but reminding him who he was and what he could do.
Cole went up to him and offered a handshake, and the Australian star obliged. But the lights suddenly went out, and once they came back on, it was Malakai Black who was shaking his hand instead. The two had a brief staredown in the ring before Adam Cole walked away.
This may be a sign that things aren't over between him and the House of Black, but this situation may be favorable for him. Adam Cole is in a race to gather three singles wins, and with him getting one tonight against Buddy, he is a step closer to earning a match with MJF at Full Gear.
Now it seems he has found his possible next opponent, with a chance to garner two singles wins.
