Adam Cole was seemingly poised to compete against a bitter rival at AEW Full Gear later this month. However, this week's episode of Dynamite has altered his status for the upcoming pay-per-view.
Last week on Dynamite, Adam Cole defeated Malakai Black, reaching one step closer to securing a match against MJF at Full Gear 2024. He further revealed that should both he and Roderick Strong pick up three straight wins as per the former AEW World Champion's stipulation, the pay-per-view bout will be modified to a Triple Threat match featuring Friedman and The Undisputed Kingdom members.
In response, MJF called in a favor from Don Callis, arranging for Konosuke Takeshita to serve as The Panama City Playboy's third opponent since his comeback from injury. The Alpha went one-on-one with Cole on the latest episode of Dynamite in an intense back-and-forth matchup. Despite his opponent's valiant efforts, the AEW International Champion managed to steal the victory after sneakily clobbering the former WWE Superstar with MJF's Dynamite Diamond Ring, which the latter had delivered to Callis previously.
Earlier on Dynamite, Roderick Strong had defeated Lance Archer in a Falls Count Anywhere match, scoring his third straight victory in November after securing wins over Shane Taylor and The Beast Mortos. As a result, The Messiah of the Backbreaker will move on to Full Gear 2024 to take on MJF.
It remains to be seen what lies next for Adam Cole in All Elite Wrestling.
