Adam Cole made his return to AEW at WrestleDream PPV. However, the former NXT Champion recently commented about potentially not getting the opportunity to wrestle Bryan Danielson in All Elite Wrestling. The American Dragon retired from full-time competition at WrestleDream.
Bryan Danielson made it clear that he'll retire from being a full-time star once he loses the AEW World Championship. Danielson lost the title in a heartbreaking way at the hands of his former best friend Jon Moxley. Not only did Mox kick him out of The Blackpool Combat Club, but also proceeded to send the veteran away by suffocating him with a plastic bag.
In a recent appearance on the Stick to Wrestling podcast, Adam Cole said that he's disappointed about not getting to wrestle Bryan Danielson in All Elite Wrestling.
"Yes, yes (I’m disappointed I didn’t get to wrestle Bryan Danielson in a singles match in AEW). No doubt and again, I respect Bryan Danielson so much, like everybody does. Bryan is so universally loved, respected and admired. Not just by fans, but literally by every wrestler I’ve ever met. I mean, Bryan is without question one of the greatest of all-time to ever do this."

Adam Cole hopes that he's able to square off against Bryan Danielson in the future:
"Bryan’s health and Bryan’s safety and Bryan’s legacy is the most important thing so I’m glad that Bryan is able to rest and heal and again, Bryan’s one of the greatest to ever do it and selfishly, I do wish I could have stepped into the ring with him again but who knows? Never say never. Maybe someday, maybe someday." [H/T: PostWrestling]
Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson debuted in All Elite Wrestling on the same night at the AEW All Out 2021 Pay-Per-View.
AEW star Adam Cole wrestled Bryan Danielson in WWE
On an episode of WWE SmackDown in November 2019, then NXT Champion Adam Cole faced off against Bryan Danielson in singles competition. The match occurred during the build-up of the first-ever NXT vs. RAW vs. SmackDown edition of Survivor Series Premium Live Event.
The hostile takeover of NXT on that episode of SmackDown saw Adam Cole pick up a clean victory over former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan). The match was the first-ever encounter between Danielson and Cole. It will be interesting to see if both men square off again in All Elite Wrestling.
