Former TNT Champion Adam Copeland is set to make his in-ring return on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite. The Rated-R Superstar opened up about the upcoming show in Asheville.
At AEW Double or Nothing in May 2024, Adam Copeland fractured his tibia after jumping from the top of the cage during his Barbed Wire Cage match against Malakai Black. The Rated-R Superstar was off television since then and recently made his surprising return to the company at Worlds End. Copeland is set to make his in-ring return at the first Dynamite of 2025 set to take place from Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville.
The Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite is set to be headlined by Adam Copeland who will team up with his Rated-FTR stablemates, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler to take on The Death Riders.
In a recent interview on Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Adam Copeland spoke about how Asheville has suffered a lot due to being hit by Hurricane Helene. He said that it's important to give them some entertainment in the form of professional wrestling after going through these major setbacks due to the storm.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
"Historically Asheville's not necessarily a wrestling town. For a while NWA ran here weekly, back in the eighties, but at some point it just became a non-wrestling town. I don't know if that's changed, but it felt like coming here was the right thing to do to try and help this community. Entertainment is one of the things that gets people through," Copeland said. “A TV show, a game, pro wrestling, a concert, whatever it is, take your pick. That's what it's for. And it's really important for people. And I think the pandemic really highlighted that for folks.” [H/T:Sports Illustrated]
Adam Copeland left WWE to sign with AEW last year
The Rated-R Superstar shocked the fans after making his AEW debut at last year's WrestleDream PPV event. Adam Copeland (fka Edge) had his last match in WWE against Sheamus in August 2023. Copeland was having a great run in All Elite Wrestling till his injury at Double or Nothing earlier this year.
The WWE Hall of Famer returned to All Elite Wrestling at Worlds End PPV this past Saturday and is set to make his in-ring return at the Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite.
We will have to wait and see who wins the match between Rated FTR and The Death Riders.
