AEW star Adam Copeland has been absent from television since May. However, a shocking twist could be in store for The Rated-R Superstar's return. The former Edge could make his come back as a member of his best friend Christian Cage's The Patriarchy faction.

For the past couple of weeks in AEW, HOOK has been looking to find the identity of the person who attacked his father Taz in the parking lot. On the recent edition of Dynamite, the former FTW Champion made his way to the ring during The Patriarchy's segment and looked ready to fight the faction alone. However, Kip Sabian pulled a shocking twist by hitting HOOK with a low blow. It was eventually revealed that The Patriarchy was responsible for Taz's attack.

HOOK's former tag team partner Powerhouse Hobbs recently teased reuniting Team Taz (Ricky Starks, HOOK, and Powerhouse Hobbs) to face The Patriarchy. However, Christian Cage could add a returning Adam Copeland to his group to even the odds against the babyface team. The move could make the storyline more interesting and pull some new viewers to the All Elite Wrestling product.

AEW star Adam Copeland recently provided an update on his injury

The Rated-R Superstar broke his tibia after jumping from the top of the cage on Malakai Black during their TNT Championship match at Double or Nothing earlier this year. Adam Copeland was stripped of the title after the injury and has not been seen in All Elite Wrestling since.

In a recent interview with amNewYork Metro, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he has been able to get back into the ring but that he isn't at full strength yet.

"It feels good, it still doesn’t have the full strength back yet. The explosion isn’t there, the full mobility isn't back yet," Copeland said. "I was able to get in the ring and kind of roll around a little bit just to see where it’s at. I felt some of the deficiency, it still isn’t up to it but it is in the right direction." [H/T: AMNY]

We will have to wait and see how AEW decides to bring back The Rated-R Superstar once he's healed from his injuries.
