One of the biggest WWE Superstars has undergone an interesting change in AEW following their remarkable return to start a fresh chapter in the new year.

During Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, veteran superstar Adam Copeland made his return to the weekly program after his shocking comeback at Worlds End. He was absent after suffering a devastating ankle injury back at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. At the event, Copeland aligned himself with FTR.

The trio was set to face The Death Riders, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Interestingly, the company changed Adam Copeland's ring name. As Justin Roberts announced, he was called "The Rated-R Superstar" Cope, with the company shortening his real name.

Fans are stunned at Adam Copeland's name change in AEW

Tony Khan and his company made an interesting move by changing Adam Copeland's ring name. Fans were stunned on social media, and this shift garnered mixed reactions from the fan base.

A large number of fans disliked this name change, believing that Adam Copeland should have kept his original name rather than being called "Cope."

"That’s….. awful. Copeland works idk if cope does," a tweet read.
"God I hope they ditch that fast," a person commented.

One user even said that Tony Khan and his regime were in denial that the company's creative state was bad. Another user commented that it was the worst name they had heard since the name Test, given to a popular star of the Attitude Era.

Regardless, AEW seems to be sticking with the name as Cope resumes his run in the company. With the Rated-R superstar targeting Jon Moxley, he appears to be next in line to challenge him for the World Championship in a blockbuster showdown.
