AEW confirms ongoing rumor about Buddy Matthews

This week's AEW Collision seemingly hinted at Buddy Matthews' immediate future. He was taken out last week by Christian Cage and The Patriarchy.

Rumors indicate that he will be away from TV for a while for personal reasons. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Matthews would be visiting Australia alongside his fiancée, Rhea Ripley, to attend a family event.

After seemingly being written off TV last week, the House of Black member was nowhere to be seen on Saturday's AEW Collision. Matthews' absence suggests that he might be away from action for the foreseeable future.

There has been no significant update on when he might return to television.

Given that Buddy Matthews was taken out by Christian Cage and The Patriarchy, one can expect House of Black to avenge the beatdown. However, fans will have to wait for Matthews to return and possibly lock horns with the Cage-led faction.

It will be interesting to see what his character will be like once he makes his return. Given that The Patriarchy is already a heel faction, fans may see House of Black or at least Matthews turn babyface.
