AEW launched the 2024 edition of its prestigious Continental Classic tournament last month. The same rules as last year's tournament apply this time around, although there has been a slight change in how the finalists squaring off for the Continental Title at Worlds End will be determined.

Several 2024 C2 matches have already been contested in both the Blue and Gold League blocks. The action continued this week on the December 6 episode of Rampage, which featured three bouts for the tournament. Read on to find out who the competitors were, and which of them came out on top!

Kazuchika Okada vs. Mark Briscoe

Kazuchika Okada entered the 2024 Continental Classic as the defending Continental Champion. The multi-time G1 Climax winner also intended to prove his status as the world's greatest tournament wrestler. Unfortunately, the Japanese star had a bumpy start, fighting TNT Champion Daniel Garcia to a draw last week on AEW Collision.

The Rainmaker looked to make a comeback this week on Rampage, where he took on Mark Briscoe in Blue League action. At the end of a bloody, hard-hitting match, Okada managed to plant The Sussex County Chicken with his Rainmaker lariat for the win, ending up with a total of four points so far.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada [4 points]

Daniel Garcia vs. The Beast Mortos

In the second Blue League bout on this week's Rampage, Daniel Garcia faced off against The Beast Mortos. The masked luchador was coming off of a loss to Don Callis Family member Kyle Fletcher last week on Collision.

Mortos put up an impressive performance against The Red Death on the Friday night show, winning fans in the arena over with his prowess. However, Garcia managed to defeat the former Black Taurus to also raise his points to a total of four.

Winner: Daniel Garcia [4 points]

Ricochet vs. Komander

In the main event of the latest episode of AEW Rampage, Ricochet took on Komander, who replaced an injured Juice Robinson in this year's C2, in a Gold League clash. The One and Only attempted to bounce back to winning ways after his loss to Claudio Castagnoli last week on Dynamite.

The two high-flyers matched each other move for move, with Komander mounting a valiant effort against the former WWE Superstar. However, a Spirit Gun enabled Ricochet to pick up the win and his first three points in the tournament.

Winner: Ricochet [3 points]

What's next in the 2024 AEW Continental Classic?

The 2024 Continental Classic will continue on Saturday Night AEW Collision this week, with Darby Allin set to take on Komander in the Gold League, and two Blue League matches pitting Daniel Garcia against Mark Briscoe and Kyle Fletcher against Kazuchika Okada.

Furthermore, multiple Gold League bouts have been announced for Dynamite: Winter is Coming next week, including Brody King vs. Ricochet and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Will Ospreay. The Aerial Assassin will also face Darby on the Holiday Bash edition of the Wednesday night show.
