AEW International Champion MJF hinted at facing a 27-year-old star in the future. This comes after the young star fired some shots at the former AEW World Champion.
Gabe Kidd has built quite a reputation in New Japan Pro Wrestling and is one of the best young talents that they have on offer. Kidd's confidence seems to be growing with each passing. Given his recent meteoric rise in Japan, Kidd probably feels he can beat anyone in the ring.
Recently, Gabe Kidd went on a rant on social where he had some choice words for Maxwell Jacob Friedman. He said that the Salt of the Earth could never touch him in the ring. He also called him to Nottingham so that he could show him how to fight.
MJF responded to the NJPW star on the Wrestling Classic podcast where he mentioned that Tony Khan is forcing him to go to WrestleDream. He also hinted at facing Kidd sometime in the future:
“I’ve never been to Japan. If I do go to Japan, it’s going to be because my boss is going to force me to do that indie show on January 5th. I think they’re calling it something Dynasty; I can’t remember the name. There was this little, you know, chubby kid—I think his name is Gabe. Is it Gabe? CDD Gabe? Kid Gabe? Gabe Kid? That’s the one, that’s the one, yeah, sorry. And, you know, he was talking smack. So, who knows, maybe that will go down at some point.”
MJF recently commented on CM Punk
One of CM Punk's best feuds in AEW was against MJF. Given their mic skills, the two men had a verbal sparring session that was a treat to the fans. They competed in two singles matches which were tied at 1 apiece. Punk left the company before a trilogy could've taken place.
Speaking on the same podcast, Maxwell Jacob Friedman called Punk a mentor despite their heated rivalry. He also noted that he learned from the Straight Edge Superstar through hate.
MJF won the AEW International Championship from Will Ospreay last week on Dynamite.
