AEW legend Sting was last seen on the promotion's programming at All In 2024. The Vigilante has now been announced for WrestleCon, which is set to take place during the WWE Royal Rumble 2025 weekend in Indianapolis.
Earlier this year, at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view, Sting wrestled his last professional wrestling match. He teamed up with Darby Allin to successfully defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Nicholas and Matthew Jackson (The Young Bucks). Following the event, the WWE Hall of Famer retired and officially relinquished the title.
It was recently announced that Sting would appear at WrestleCon Indianapolis, which is set to take place on Friday, January 31, and Saturday, February 1 at Marriott Downtown. The event's venue is near Lucas Oil Stadium, which will host WWE Royal Rumble 2025. The Vigilante will join legends like Kurt Angle and The Hardys at the annual fan convention.

AEW veteran Paul Wight wants to retire like Sting
Sting had one of the best retirement tours in All Elite Wrestling. The Vigilante's farewell match received positive reactions from most viewers. He closed Revolution 2024 with a heartfelt promo thanking fans for supporting him for almost 40 years.
In a recent interview on the Downunder The Ring podcast, former WWE star Paul Wight said he wanted to retire from professional wrestling like Sting. He also hoped that his Captain Insano persona would have a match in All Elite Wrestling soon.
“I kind of wanna go out like Sting did. Have a nice little run. Have some great matches, work with some of this amazing, young talent we have in AEW, and then, slide out. That goal accomplished and then, I’ll move to New York and become a world-famous playwright. It’s a joke because I can’t spell (…) Grand Slam: Australia and hopefully Captain Insano will have a match and we’re actually gonna see a 400-pound guy in spandex (…) So let me correct that. A se*y, good-looking, bald, 400-pound guy in spandex. I mean, that’s my opinion,” Wight said. [H/T: Post Wrestling]
Paul Wight occasionally wrestles for All Elite Wrestling. Fans will have to wait and see whether he has his retirement match in 2025.
