A wrestling veteran recently pointed out a big issue with The Hurt Syndicate taking out a former AEW World Champion. That would be Tommy Dreamer.
Last Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland, who is currently a babyface, defeated Lio Rush in an exciting encounter. Following his win, Swerve was interrupted by MVP and Bobby Lashley of The Hurt Syndicate during his promo. Out of nowhere, Shelton Benjamin jumped Strickland from behind which led to an assault on the former AEW World Champion.
Moreover, MVP also took out Prince Nana inside the ring before Lashley laid out Swerve with a full Nelson hurt lock. Meanwhile, ECW legend Tommy Dreamer pointed out an issue with the segment between The Killshot and The Hurt Syndicate.
While speaking on the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Dreamer stated that Swerve is an intelligent babyface and he should have known that Shelton would jump him from behind:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I don't think that helped my babyface Swerve, who's cool. He does everything. He is a violent man and he's done some violent things. He's also a smart, intelligent babyface. When I see stuff like that, I'm like, 'How did you not know Shelton wasn't going to jump you from behind?' But then my other part is Nana. Nana should have been the one to like prevent them." Swerve Strickland is set to take on Bobby Lashley at AEW Full Gear 2024
Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has been involved in a storyline with The Hurt Syndicate ever since MVP made his debut in the Tony Khan-led promotion. After The Killshot defeated Shelton Benjamin a few weeks ago, he was confronted by a debuting Bobby Lashley. Meanwhile, a match between Swerve and The All Mighty is set for the upcoming AEW Full Gear 2024 Pay-Per-View.
After the aforementioned match was announced, Bobby has had the upper hand over Swerve in their feud. It remains to be seen what transpires between the two men this Wednesday on Dynamite ahead of their match at AEW Full Gear 2024.
