AEW has just made a big announcement on Jon Moxley and what he will be doing this coming week. This will be crucial as the AEW Double or Nothing pay per view is in the home stretch.

It was announced that Moxley, who is the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, will be at the Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California for AEW Dynamite. This was announced on the official Twitter page and fans will definitely be eager to see him there.

“#AEWDynamite THIS WEDNESDAY! @MechanicsBArena | Bakersfield, CA LIVE 8pm ET/7pm CT on TBS #IWGP World Heavy Champion @JonMoxley will be in the Mechanics Bank Arena for #AEWDynamite THIS WEDNESDAY!” they tweeted.

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

The former WWE star will take on Konosuke Takeshita at Double or Nothing and if the Japanese star wins, he will get a future shot at the IWGP World Title that is currently held by Moxley.

Dave Meltzer reveals why Jon Moxley is not defending his title at Double or Nothing

AEW Double or Nothing is a big event and it is surprising that one of the company’s biggest stars, Jon Moxley will not be defending his IWGP Title at the show.

Dave Meltzer speculated over what the reason might be on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He suggested that New Japan Pro-Wrestling might have something to do him not defending the belt at Double or Nothing.

"I would suspect Moxley vs. Takeshita being non-title is because New Japan controls the IWGP belt and doesn’t like to announce title bouts with another one scheduled. With Moxley vs. Evil at Dominion on 6/9, that would make it difficult for Moxley to defend before that date," Dave Meltzer said.

This is understandable as the match was already booked for the Dominion event. Jon Moxley losing the title before that would throw a dampener to already booked plans. It will be interesting to see if Takeshita comes out on top at Double or Nothing.
