Adam Copeland made his return to AEW moments ago at Worlds End after a seven-month hiatus due to injury. However, it seems that his first segment back involved a minor mishap.
Tonight's main event saw Jon Moxley successfully defend his AEW World Title with the help of his Death Riders teammates. However, the group's next big challengers immediately made their presence known with FTR coming out alongside The Rated-R Superstar.
The former WWE tag team recently spoke about taking things personally after they were targeted by Moxley and his group. They hinted at bringing some backup for the fight, and this ended up being Adam Copeland.
FTR brawled with The Death Riders and sent them running, while Copeland took out Moxley with a Spear. Adding insult to injury, he applied a cross-face submission hold on Moxley. The Purveyor of Violence was eventually pulled out of the ring by Claudio Castagnoli, and the heel group moved him to safety.
Adam Copeland asked for a microphone and was about to call out the AEW World Champion. However, he received a faulty mic, leading to a brief awkward moment. In an embarrassing botch, The Rated-R Superstar was shouting, but nothing came out of the mic.
Copeland was finally given a working microphone, and he formally called out Moxley's stable.
