Swerve Strickland seems to be taking some well-deserved time away from television, but fans will soon get an update on his status. AEW has announced a segment featuring Swerve's manager, Prince Nana, for this week's Grand Slam edition of Dynamite in New York City.
Swerve Strickland carried the AEW World Championship from April 21 to August 25 this year. Fans saw an incredible rise for the 33-year-old, whose title reign, matches, and work ethic catapulted him to fan-favorite status during this period. Swerve has been out of action since his brutal loss to Hangman Adam Page at All Out, but he may not be gone for long.
AEW is heading back to Arthur Ashe Stadium for its fourth-annual Dynamite: Grand Slam this week. The card is being loaded with top-level matches, and many of the company's major stars will be in action in NYC. The Jacksonville-based promotion has now announced that Prince Nana will appear at Grand Slam, where he will give an update on Swerve's status:

Swerve Strickland is training for his comeback
It's been a huge year for Swerve Strickland. The 33-year-old took the reins in AEW's main event scene and elevated himself to such an extent that he's now seen by many as the face of the company.
It's natural that Strickland would need some time off after his World Championship reign and violent cage match with Hangman Adam Page, but it seems that the former NXT star is already training for a comeback.
Ahead of this week's Dynamite: Grand Slam, Strickland posted a video of himself in the gym on Instagram. The former AEW World Champion can be seen training, and he captioned the clip with a determined message:
"Back to form," Strickland wrote.
Despite the viciousness and longevity of their feud, many fans feel that Swerve and Hangman are not finished with each other. Could the two continue their Batman-Joker feud this week at Grand Slam? We'll find out this Wednesday night.
