WWE legend Bully Ray has claimed that AEW might have found its own Chyna. On the Blood & Guts special episode of Dynamite, former NWA World Women's Champion Kamille made her much-awaited debut. She reportedly signed with the Tony Khan-led company earlier this year and has now aligned herself with reigning NJPW Strong Women's Champion and AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné.
Last night, Britt Baker had a grueling match with Hikaru Shida, which the former won by submission. After the bout concluded, Moné showed up and declared that there was no way she would face The D.M.D. at All In. Out of nowhere, Kamille entered the ring and attacked the former AEW Women's World Champion. The 31-year-old then raised Moné's hand in the ring.
Commentators Tony Schiavone and Taz were thoroughly impressed by Kamille's raw strength and in-ring presence. Additionally, in the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray stated that the 31-year-old could be the Jacksonville-based promotion's version of Chyna.
The Ninth Wonder of the World is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers. The late great wrestler was a one-time WWE Women's Champion and a two-time Intercontinental Champion. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X in 2019.
"Heavy. Protector. A Chyna-esque presence. She slides in through the backdoor, Kamille Brickhouse. Great to see her and high hopes for her. You saw what she did in the NWA. She brought credibility to that Women's Championship. I want to see Kamille getting established first in the same way Chyna was established back in the day. Or whenever you have to establish somebody and take them seriously," Bully Ray said. [From 6:14 to 7:40]
AEW star Kamille recently revealed she had spoken with WWE NXT head Shawn Michaels
Kamille entered free agency earlier this year after her contract with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) ended in January 2024.
During an interview with WrestlingNewsCo earlier this year, Kamille revealed that she spoke to Tony Khan and Shawn Michaels before eventually inking a deal with the Jacksonville-based promotion. Furthermore, she was surprised to learn that HBK was her ''big fan.''
"I just appreciate so much that he's [Tony Khan] even taken the time out to look at my work, to enjoy my matches, watch my promos, stuff like that. I've had conversations with Shawn Michaels, and I had no idea no clue that Shawn Michaels had any idea who in the world Kamille was. And [I] found out he's a big fan,'' she said. Kamille held the NWA World Women's Championship for 813 days. It will be interesting to see how she fares in AEW.
