There have been reports of a WWE spot that recently opened up allegedly due to some changes the company was making. An AEW name has now denied the rumors of him jumping ship to the Stamford-based promotion with regard to that position. This was AEW's Mikey Rukus responding to rumors about an open position in WWE.
Mikey has been the person behind several of AEW's theme songs since the company's inception. He has also produced the theme song for Dynamite as well as for other major stars like Keith Lee, Undisputed Kingdom, and Adam Cole. Rukus' way of producing theme songs has been quite different from the WWE format.
Recently, reports surfaced that the Stamford-based promotion would not be renewing Def Rebel's contracts when they expire. The reports mentioned that the company would be looking at outside artists to produce music for them moving forward. This meant that a spot on the music production team was open, leading to speculation that Mikey Rukus could jump ship.
However, Rukus took to social media to clarify that he had no intention of leaving Tony Khan's promotion and planned to remain with them until he retired.
"AEW is my home. I am very happy here and wish to remain here until I retire."

However, many fans weren't satisfied with this response. Hence, Rukus replied with another tweet that added more context. He mentioned how he had struggled to provide for his family and felt like a failure most days while trying to balance a music side gig while holding down a full-time job. He also mentioned how AEW gave him the opportunity to pursue music full-time and loves working for Tony Khan's promotion.
"In 2019, when I joined AEW, I was able to walk away from all of that, cleanly. I was terrified, because retail was literally all I knew aside from freelancing music. We are coming up on 5 years of Dynamite and I can still remember the moment we went live for the first time. So yes, I’ve been in my feels this week, and instead of just dropping the 'I love my job' tweet, I went a little further. Yes, AEW is my home, and I wish to be here until I retire. I realize that’s not the 'cool' thing to say for whatever reasons you might think. I realize everyone’s experience is different. But for me, I love watching my coworkers get some shine."
Nigel McGuinness explained how he convinced Tony Khan to book him against Bryan Danielson at AEW Grand Slam
Nigel McGuinness came out of retirement at AEW All In when he competed in the Casino Gauntlet Match. This week on Dynamite, he challenged Bryan Danielson to a match at AEW Grand Slam.
Tonight on Collision, Nigel McGuinness explained how he convinced his boss to book this match.
"When Jon Moxley convinced Darby Allin to put his title opportunity on the line, he did it out of pure speculation. Which is what I said to Tony Khan. There's no way that we can know Bryan Danielson won't be able to show up at Grand Slam. So I said, 'If he is, with Darby Allin no longer able to face him, I would like to,'" he said. [0:15 - 0:36]
Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness have a long history together which should make this match all the more interesting.
