AEW star Jeff Jarrett recently commented on IMPACT Wrestling reverting back to its old name, TNA (Total Nonstop Action), at Hard To Kill pay-per-view in January 2024.

This past week, at the end of Bound For Glory pay-per-view, IMPACT Wrestling announced that the company will change its name back to TNA in January 2024. AEW's Jeff Jarrett was one of the founders of the promotion alongside his father and helped build the promotion to what it is today.

Speaking on his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett gave his thoughts on the name change:

"I had heard rumblings and you know, boy Conrad. Do you really want to open up this can of worms? But yes, I’m surprised in a few different ways in that the conversations that I had with Anthem I’ll just leave it at that. I was pretty clear with them that Hey guys, in my opinion, Impact Wrestling, naming that the company was almost dead on arrival in 2011 and 12 the tagline wrestling matters and all that kind of stuff. But I said I just think Impact Wrestling is dead. The television show." [H/T:InsideTheRopes]

Jeff Jarrett signed with AEW in 2022 and currently works as Director of Business Development in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Double J last competed on the October 21 edition of AEW Collision against Eddie Kingston in a Street Fight.

AEW's Jeff Jarrett believes the promotion is in good hands after IMPACT announced the return of TNA

Total Nonstop Action was founded in 2002 and had a very successful run in its early days. The promotion signed top stars like Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and many more. TNA also created new stars like AJ Styles, who went on to become a world champion across the world.

In 2017, TNA was rebranded to IMPACT Wrestling after it was purchased by Anthem Sports & Entertainment. Last week, the company announced that it will rebrand to Total Nonstop Action again next year.

Speaking on the same episode of My World podcast, the current AEW star praised TNA head booker Scott D'Amore and stated that the promotion is in good hands:

"It’s all about what is Scott’s vision. That is what I’m most optimistic about. Okay, Scott, what’s your vision of TNA? You know, I know what mine was, well aware. And we can talk about all the different things, the four different divisions, how’s that gonna be positioned or promoted? The six-sided ring, to me, there’s a lot of nuances. But at the end of the day, it’s the story. And I was blessed with fantastic talent, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, we go through on that list, but I’m excited because it’s good for the industry. Change is good."

Jarrett further added:

"I will forever be somewhat emotionally attached to it. But I wish God and the team nothing but the best and I hope they take it to heights that it’s never been before." [H/T:InsideThe Ropes]
