AEW's Kenny Omega breaks silence after long-awaited announcement, return opponent confirmed

AEW star Kenny Omega is undoubtedly one of the greatest professional wrestlers in modern times. He is the company's first and only Triple Crown Champion as he has won the the AEW World Championship, the AEW World Tag Team Championship, and the AEW World Trios Championship. Unfortunately, the 41-year-old has not wrestled throughout 2024. This is because he is suffering from a medical condition called diverticulitis.

Omega reportedly underwent surgery a few months ago and is currently recovering from it. Interestingly, he is set to wrestle at the upcoming Wrestle Dynasty Pay-Per-View, which will take place at the Tokyo Dome on January 5, 2025. At the event, The Cleaner will lock horns with New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Gabe Kidd.

This match was made official a few hours ago and The Best Bout Machine reacted to this news on X (formerly Twitter).

Kenny Omega does not want Gabe Kidd to join AEW

NJPW recently interviewed Kenny Omega. In this conversation, he spoke about various things. However, one of the most interesting parts of this interaction was Omega's views on his Wrestle Dynasty opponent, Gabe Kidd. The Cleaner stated that the 27-year-old would never get signed to All Elite Wrestling.

"I can tell you as someone that knows: Someone like Gabe Kidd will not set foot in AEW. Maybe if we’re passing through town, grab your boots kid, have a dark match. He will never see the light of TV unless he gets a very positive review from yours truly. I would love to forgive and forget one time years from now, but I don’t see it happening.
