WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long believes AEW star MJF will defeat another Hall of Famer in a promo battle. The name in question is none other than Bully Ray.

The Salt of the Earth gained popularity in AEW due to his incredible mic skills. MJF's promos have been compared to veterans like Ric Flair. However, WWE Legend Bully Ray has claimed that MJF wouldn't stand a chance against him in a promo battle.

In the recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast with Mac Davis, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long claimed that MJF will beat Bully Ray in a promo battle as he naturally gets better after every delivery. He noted how Friedman's promo comes straight out of his mind and he has got everything in place.

"Well, I'm going with MJF. Why I'm gonna do that is because listen, do not get me wrong, I'm not taking nothing away from Bully Ray. The guy is great, has great mic skills, unbelievable. But, if you've noticed MJF recently and in the past, this guy has gotten better and better on the microphone and I've also noticed, if one time I saw him do a promo, I really don't think nobody even written it. I think that came right off the top of his head. So, you can say what you want but MJF has got this game down and he's who I would go with." [3:22 - 4:00]

Bully Ray recently took jabs at AEW after his appearance on NXT

NXT ran from the 2300 Arena a couple of weeks ago. The venue is famous for holding many ECW events in the past. The episode of NXT was stacked with ECW legends like Bully Ray, Rhyno, Nunzio, Rob Van Dam, and more.

On the show, Bully Ray teamed up with Trick Williams to face Ridge Holland and Ethan Page in a losing effort. The show also went head to head with AEW Dynamite and NXT defeated Dynamite in ratings. In a recent signing, one-half of The Dudley Boyz took a jab at Chris Jericho and claimed that NXT beat Dynamite because of his appearance on the show.

"NXT beat AEW in the ratings last night! Why? [points to himself] Ratings God! Not the demo god, but the rating’s god. Take that, Chris Jericho!” he said.

It will be interesting to see if WWE brings back Bully Ray for another match on NXT.
