An absent AEW star has shared a huge health update amid a prolonged time away from the ring for over 25 months. The performer in question is Rebel, who has taken to Instagram to reveal that she underwent surgery recently.

Rebel joined All Elite Wrestling back in 2019 in a backstage role, requiring her to work on the makeup and hair of the company's female performers. However, the former TNA star later became an on-screen talent as well, aligning with Britt Baker.

She also wrestled a few matches in AEW, with her last in-ring outing coming two years earlier, in August 2022. Though Rebel did return to the ring in February this year, it was at an indie show, where she teamed up with her colleague Harley Cameron.

Despite her absence from Tony Khan's company, a recent report suggested the 46-year-old was still under contract but "rarely there" at its shows. She recently took to Instagram to share an update on her health, revealing she had undergone surgery and posted pictures of herself from the hospital. Check it out below:

"Third time going under anesthesia in the past 4 months and I’m grateful surgery went well today. 🙏🏼 I’m on the mend ya’ll 🫶🏼 and I’m excited for it. And best believe I’m watching @aew dynamite tonight and you should too 😽" wrote Rebel.

AEW star Rebel recently detailed her health struggles

A few days back, Rebel finally disclosed the reason behind her absence from AEW. The 46-year-old star revealed that she was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in May, which led to her being hospitalized. She also assured fans that she was hoping to get better by the end of the year and start 2025 with a bang.

"Next year, expect a very fit birthday bikini pic. This year has not been what I expected. I’ve kept this private until now bc I believe I’m on the up. Thank you to the very few who knew what was going on and kept it private. And for those who didn’t know, I’ll spare you the details but in short, I was hospitalized in May for a good while bc they found a mass in my lung that they couldn’t figure out what it was, turns out it’s pneumonia. A couple of ct scans found some other minor issues that I am taking care of. I feel better every day, now that I am getting a handle on these things. cheers to another trip around the sun."

AEW's female roster has grown leaps and bounds since Rebel last wrestled in the company, and it remains to be seen what's in store for her once she returns.
