One of AEW's biggest acquisitions this year - Ricochet - was in action this week on the Christmas special edition of Dynamite. However, he received an ominous warning from another top star and former All Elite World Champion.
Dynamite on 34th Street, which aired on December 25, featured Renee Paquette conducting a backstage interview of Swerve Strickland. The Realest was asked about his plans for 2025, and reminded viewers of his accomplishments this year, including his acclaimed AEW World Championship reign. He nonetheless acknowledged that he also faced some major setbacks this year, such as his recent losses to Hangman Page and, more recently, to Bobby Lashley, before stating that he intended to rebound in 2025.
However, Swerve's interview was interrupted by Ricochet, who had wrestled Darby Allin to a draw earlier in a Continental Classic tournament bout. Ricochet has now advanced to Worlds End 2024 in the process. The One and Only vowed to do what Strickland could not last year, but the latter responded to his taunt by informing him that he wants Ricochet to succeed, as that would drive AEW's success in turn. However, The New Flavor also warned The Human Highlight Reel to not squander the opportunity of representing the All Elite brand, and promised to "embarrass" the latter if he did.
Considering the parting shot Ricochet took at Strickland after he walked away - as well as his recent questionable conduct - it seems like a feud between the two may be imminent.
