A current AEW star sarcastically reacted to the current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes' recent controversial statement. The American Nightmare's statement has been a topic of discussion among the wrestling community.
The AEW star in question is Turbo Floyd. Turbo has been performing for the Jacksonville-based promotion since his debut back in 2021. He is one half of 'The Outrunners' tag team, who are currently active in both the All Elite promotion and the Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor. Floyd is also active on the independent wrestling scene.
Turbo Floyd seemingly responded to a recent controversial comment made by Cody Rhodes. The Undisputed WWE Champion stated that some veterans saying he is in the business to help the young guys is a red flag for him. The statement garnered so many mixed reactions from the wrestling community.
The AEW star Turbo Floyd took to X (formerly Twitter) to seemingly respond to The American Nightmare's controversial comments in an amusing and sarcastic way. He wrote the following potentially referencing Rhodes' comments:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I’m just here to help the older guys."
Cody Rhodes believes that wrestling veterans should be like Triple H
Speaking with Jonathan Coachman on Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Cody Rhodes advised the veterans of the industry to be more open and independent-minded like the younger guys today. Cody cited the WWE CCO Triple H as a prime example.
"I’ve noticed talent today, especially younger talent, are more independent-minded than they’re ever been. They're more strong willed than they've ever been about what they can do. So, if you’re one of these guys coming in, having an open mind is the greatest thing ever. Triple H being the prime example."
