An AEW star recently provided an important update on his health and revealed that he will be getting surgery. The star is Matt Sydal (fka Evan Bourne in WWE).
The high-flyer made a name for himself on the Independent circuit and was also a part of the WWE from 2007 to 2014. He signed with AEW on November 17, 2020, and has had some great matches in the Jacksonville-based promotion. However, after Tony Khan acquired Ring of Honor in 2022, Matt Sydal has been mainly performing on the ROH brand.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Matt Sydal thanked the AEW medical staff and announced that he would be getting surgery on his right foot.
"After 12 years of suffering, I’m getting my right foot fixed today. The surgeon has to break and re-fuse three bones, and use hardware to set my toes into the joints. Thank you to @AEW and our Medical Staff for the care. Thanks to the fans who’ve stuck with me the whole time. Love you all! The best is yet to come…"

Randy Orton mentions AEW star Matt Sydal while recalling his favorite RKO's of all time
Former WWE Champion Randy Orton's RKO is one of the deadliest finishing moves in professional wrestling. The Viper has created some of the most iconic moments in WWE history with the RKO. Speaking in an interview with Adam's Apple, Randy Orton revealed his favorite RKO of all time.
"I've had a few… a lot of people like the one with Evan Bourne [Matt Sydal] out of the shooting star press; the one with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania [31] was big, off-the-curb stomp. I did one with Chad Gable where he was doing a moonsault, and I had never done that before. I was a little leery of that but I think most recently, on my debut, my return, I should say at WarGames in Survivor Series in November, I RKOed JD McDonagh off the top of the cage. Never done that before. So I'm going to go with that one, '' said Orton. [From 9:24 to 9:57]
Randy Orton is currently a part of the SmackDown brand in WWE. It will be interesting to see if the veteran challenges Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Title in the future.
