A popular name from Japan is currently embroiled in a feud with a top star from AEW's women's division. The individuals in question - Mina Shirakawa and Mariah May - were formerly allies and tag partners.

The Glamour stunned fans at Full Gear last month when she attempted to blindside her Rose Gold partner and close friend Shirakawa during her Champagne Championship Celebration at the pay-per-view. The 36-year-old star managed to disarm May and speared her off the stage, seemingly ending their alliance.

The reigning AEW Women's World Champion retaliated by later ambushing Mina during a backstage interview. Eventually, the Tony Khan-led promotion announced that the two women would square off for the title at Dynamite: Winter is Coming 2024.

Just a day ahead of their championship bout on December 11, Mina Shirakawa shared a clip from her previous singles meeting with Mariah May at the Stardom 5Star Grand Prix tournament last year. Noting how things have changed since their last encounter, she seemingly bade farewell to her relationship with The Fighting Princess and warned the latter before their match on Dynamite.

A female WWE star said her life is in danger. Details HERE

"Summer 2023... Our first singles match began with a handshake.. I always wished this beautiful relationship would last forever. But #WinterIsComing.....it cannot begin the same way... Goodbye, my beloved Mariah May. December 11th will be a winter you’ll never forget," wrote Shirakawa.

It should be noted that May defeated Shirakawa in their previous bout at Stardom.

Mina Shirakawa has been in action in AEW of late

Last week on Dynamite, Mariah May talked about her generosity in granting her "best friend" Mina Shirakawa an AEW Women's World Title shot, claiming that the latter would never have received such an opportunity otherwise.

The former Goddess of Stardom Champion, however, crashed the interview to confront her former Club Venus stablemate with a bottle of champagne, asking the Englishwoman to attack her face-to-face and inviting her to push her to the limit at Winter is Coming.

Mina picked up momentum ahead of her championship match with a win over Emi Sakura on Collision last week. It remains to be seen if May will retain her title against Shirakawa this Wednesday.
