Big Bill joined AEW in May 2022 after resurrecting his career the year before. The former Big Cass initially made his name in WWE with Enzo Amore aka Real1. The two had a falling out years ago, and now Bill has opened up on where they stand.
The Redwood is currently aligned with Chris Jericho in AEW, but his first successful tag team was with Enzo in WWE. Bill met his future tag team partner in 2003 while playing basketball in New York City. They reunited ten years later as WWE developmental talents, and were soon known as The Realest Guys In The Room. The 2015 NXT Tag Team of the Year had a public falling out in late 2017, but Enzo mentioned two years later that they had reconciled.
Bill recently spoke with Brandon Walker of the Rasslin' podcast, and was asked about the status of their friendship. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion noted how they just finished their last Fantasy Football draft of the year in Enzo's league, and they remain on good terms.
"Still good friends with Enzo. He's the f*****g man. People ask me about Enzo all the time and I tell them, 'He might be the only person I know that's a one-of-one,' and they ask, 'What do you mean?' There's no one else on the planet like him, he is a one-of-one. You cannot replicate him, he is an incredibly talented guy, he is a unique breed," Big Bill said. [From 43:35 to 44:15]
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Walker mentioned how Bill will forever be linked to Enzo because of how great their act in WWE was. Bill doubled down on how unique the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion is, and said he hopes to see Enzo get another shot in the industry.
"Yeah, I love Enzo. I really hope he gets another shot in wrestling. I feel he's too talented to not. He's so clever, unique, wrote most of his own promos... he's just a funny guy. He's very clever, very unique, one-of-one. He walks in a room and you just know he's there, without even looking. ... Enzo is a one-of-one, and I can't say that about many people I've come across," Big Bill said. [From 44:23 to 44:56]
Bill and Enzo had their last WWE match on August 21, 2017, which was the RAW Street Fight won by Amore. The last time they worked together was in March 2022, when they were defeated by The Hardys at a Northeast Wrestling event.
Big Bill to wed AEW personality
Big Bill called on Diamond Dallas Page to help him get sober, and treated for depression, back in 2018. The assistance paved the way for the resurrection of Bill's career.
The former Big Cass began dating DDP's stepdaughter Lexy Nair in April 2021. The AEW backstage interviewer said "yes!" to Bill's proposal on Christmas Eve two years ago, and they have since been planning their wedding. Nair took to Instagram a few weeks back to wish a happy 38th birthday to her fiancé.
Bill previously dated WWE's Carmella. They met while working on-screen in NXT with Enzo Amore, but split up in 2017.
