As an AEW star's dominance continues to rise, she expelled a member from her faction. She has now broken her silence regarding this decision.

Athena has proven herself to be a dominant champion in Ring of Honor. She won the ROH Women's World Championship on December 10, 2022, and has completed over 700 days as champion. Her dominance grew in late 2023 after she formed a faction with Billie Starkz and Lexy Nair called M.I.T. She often referred to Starkz and Nair as her "minions."

However, all was not well within the group in recent weeks especially after Lexy Nair almost cost Athena her title at ROH Final Battle. As a result, the 36-year-old expelled Nair from her faction due to her unsatisfactory performance at the Boxing Day Brawl.

The ROH Women's World Champion has now broken her silence on social media by posting a picture of herself on Instagram holding her title and standing with Nair with a cryptic caption.

Athena recently teased a return to AEW TV

Athena has been a regular feature on Ring of Honor TV. As dominant as she has been as ROH Women's World Champion, she has not been featured a lot on AEW television. The Minion Overlord only competed in one match with the Jacksonville-based promotion this year at Battle of the Belts X, where she defended her title against Red Velvet. However, that doesn't mean she isn't interested in competing for the Tony Khan-led company.

During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Athena stated that she has had conversations with Khan about wanting to do more in All Elite Wrestling. While she didn't provide any specifics as to what these discussions were about, she teased the possibility of it happening soon.

"I love that they want to see me on All Elite Wrestling, but at the same time, like, I've always wanted more. I'll say that first and foremost, Tony [Khan] and I had several conversations about 'Hey, I would like to do more with AEW. Hey, I would like to do more with Dynamite, Rampage, whatever.' We've had those conversations — those conversations have been had, and there is a time period where that's going to happen." [H/T: WrestlingInc]

It will be interesting to see who will be able to dethrone Athena and end her long title reign which currently stands at 748 days.
