Malakai Black recently issued a statement about retirement rumors that were circulating about him. Brody King has jokingly reacted to those rumors as well.
Immediately after joining AEW, Malakai Black formed the House of Black along with Brody King and Buddy Matthews. Since then, the group has dominated AEW for the past couple of years.
This week on Dynamite, Black faced off against Adam Cole and suffered a crushing defeat. Following the match, he hugged Cole which caused many fans to believe that he was perhaps retiring. Hence, the leader of the House of Black posted a video to his Instagram Stories explaining to fans that he is not retiring from the ring. He asked fans not to believe everything they read online and if he was retiring, he would've announced it.
Following this, Brody King also took to social media to jokingly say that Malakai Black was retiring to start a traveling cat circus:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"I’m going to miss my brother Malakai… I heard after last nights match @malakaiblxck is leaving wrestling forever and starting a traveling cat circus. I knew it was his true calling when he showed me a video of his cats reenacting a move for move Ospreay vs Ricochet match."

Brody King wants MVP to join the House of Black
Since the House of Black joined, the group has been open to accepting new members. They added Julia Hart to their ranks and even tried to recruit FTR at one point in time.
During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda's Bill Apter, Brody King was asked if he was interested in joining MVP's group. Brody expressed his loyalty to the House of Black but stated that the former WWE star could join his group instead:
"You never know what's down the line in pro wrestling. You never say never. I think right now my loyalties lie with the House of Black. And [in] the future, maybe MVP joins the House of Black. You never know," he said. [6:22-6:38]
It will be interesting to see if the House of Black will add more members in the future to grow their group.
