Eric Bischoff doesn't seem to have many friends in AEW. One of the company's top stars recently called the former WCW Senior Vice President "miserable," while another speculated that he is upset with Tony Khan.
Former World Tag Team Champions FTR recently appeared in an interview with Jeff Snyder, during which Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler responded to Eric Bischoff, who is notorious for his outspoken and persistent criticisms of AEW's programming, calling him out for making a living out of handing out unsolicited critiques of the product.
FTR has consistently been booked as a dominant force in their division, and they have been involved in a number of compelling stories as well as highly acclaimed matches. In the interview, Harwood praised Tony Khan for providing opportunities not only to wrestlers but also to people like Bischoff, who derive engagement and capital by passing judgment on the shows.
"I don’t think Tony Khan gets the credit that he deserves because he afforded a lot of people a lot of jobs and a lot of income,” Dax Harwood said. “I mean, even if you look outside of AEW, you got all these old-time, miserable podcasters like Eric Bischoff and some of the others who make a living just by going on their podcasts and burying Tony and AEW when they know that AEW is a place where business is thriving."
Harwood's partner Cash Wheeler added that Bischoff, who appeared on the show a number of times in 2020 and 2021, may be upset at Tony Khan for not receiving a job offer from the latter.
"I think he’s really mad that Tony wouldn’t give him a job the few times he was there to collect the paycheck," Cash Wheeler said with a laugh. "Here comes bankruptcy number four!" [H/T, Wrestlezone]
FTR has been embroiled in a rivalry with the House of Black on AEW television. The Top Guys defeated Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews on the first Collision of 2024. After the match, the former World Trios Champions laid out FTR and Daniel Garcia, who had come down to ringside to support Dax and Cash.
Major AEW star working through a serious injury
A top AEW talent has revealed on social media that he has been wrestling despite nursing a serious injury.
Brian Cage took to Instagram and shared that he competed in the 8-person tag team match alongside The Gates of Agony and Lance Archer with a torn lat. The bout saw Cage and his partners lose to the team of Dustin Rhodes, Preston Vance, Adam Copeland and International Champion Orange Cassidy on the Homecoming 2024 edition of Dynamite.
“Got my sh*t in, did my version of OC ✋ in the pocket, or the "Al Bundy Suplex" and did it all with a torn lat. Who's a machine?????? This guy ☝️ #machine #swolverine #vanillagorilla #t800,” Cage wrote.

The Machine sustained the injury on the first Dynamite of 2024 in a four-way match to determine the contender for the Continental Championship currently held by Eddie Kingston.
The match, also featuring Bryan Keith and El Hijo del Vikingo, was eventually won by Trent Beretta, who was ultimately unsuccessful in beating Kingston for his titles.
