Tony Khan has employed some of the most talented professional wrestlers in the industry in AEW. They vary from highflyers to powerhouses, and skilled luchadors.
Two of AEW's biggest assets are Lio Rush and the newly signed former WWE star, Richochet. The latter made his debut in the All In 2024 pay-per-view that took place in August at Wembley Stadium, London, and has been impressive so far. Meanwhile, Lio Rush locked horns with The Hurt Syndicate's Shelton Benjamin last week on Dynamite. Even though the match was action-packed, the 29-year-old failed to defeat the former WWE United States Champion.
A few hours ago Tony Khan announced that Lio Rush and Ricochet will battle one-on-one in the upcoming episode of Collision.
This is what Khan's update said:
"This Saturday Night, 10/26 Cedar Rapids, IA 8pm ET / 7pm CT on @tntdrama Saturday Night #AEWCollision Ricochet vs. Lio Rush 2 of wrestling’s greatest athletes collide Saturday: @KingRicochet vs @IamLioRush for the first time in AEW! LIVE this Saturday on TNT at 8pm ET/7pm CT!"
In response, Rush quote-retweeted the AEW founder's post and called him a "sicko" for booking this match.
"You’re a real sicko for this one 😂," wrote Rush.
Tony Khan was urged by Mark Henry to sign Shelton Benjamin as soon as his WWE run ended
Recently on the Busted Open, The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry revealed that he advised Tony Khan to sign former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin as soon as he left the WWE. However, the businessman didn't listen to him instantly.
"The first day that Shelton got let go, I went to Tony, and I said, 'Tony, you got to pick him in. Bring him in. Let me work with him. Anything. He's the guy. Nothing happened. I'm glad that they've seen the error of their ways and they got him on board. Shelton is special, you've got to use him like he's special. It's only going to be good for everybody in the long run," said Henry. (H/T Sportskeeda)
Shelton Benjamin is scheduled to face former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland on Dynamite next week.
