AEW star who came out of retirement after 13 years makes a surprising claim about Bryan Danielson

A member of the AEW roster made a bold claim, saying that he had a bigger Wembley moment and got a better reaction than Bryan Danielson during All In last weekend. This would be Nigel McGuinness.

McGuinness has been a color commentator for several years, as he retired from in-ring competition in 2011. However, at the pay-per-view last weekend, he came out as the third entrant during the Casino Gauntlet match, much to the shock of everyone. That same night, Bryan Danielson won the AEW World Championship in front of the more than 50,000 people in attendance.

Earlier tonight on AEW Collision, Nigel McGuinness made his first appearance on the commentary desk since his return at All In. Tony Schiavone then asked him about the experience, but he was quick to take a dig at Bryan Danielson, his longtime rival, as he claimed that the reactions he got during his entrance were bigger than anything Danielson got during his match.

Nigel McGuinness talked about his AEW All In moment after the show

Right after his in-ring appearance at AEW All In, Alicia Atout interviewed Nigel McGuinness as he talked about how everything came together.

He talked about how a moment like this was a long time coming. He mentioned how it had been 13 years since he last competed and more than three decades since he was in Wembley Stadium and had that dream to become a wrestler.

The British star mentioned how this has been a plan for some time now, and he can't believe that it got to happen. He also talked about how he gave it his all and hoped this gave him hope for the future.

"What you saw tonight was a long time coming you know what I mean? 13 years since I was in the ring and 32 years since I was in this stadium and first had that dream, and that epiphany that somehow I was going to be a professional wrestler. And there was a good portion of my life, after I had retired 13 years ago that I just had to put that to bed, you know? You get some things and you have to look at the positives, and you know when we first found out we were coming to Wembley and that was a possibility, you know, like I said what you saw tonight was only a short part of it," he said.

With Nigel McGuinness looking to be in great form during the match, this may set up possibilities for another in-ring appearance, perhaps against Bryan Danielson, as they could have one more meeting before they both head towards retirement for good.
