An AEW star confessed how an emotional moment stood out in the Vince McMahon Netflix docuseries. The show has the entire wrestling community hooked.
The star in question is none other than Mercedes Mone. She had a great run in WWE as Sasha Banks before going to the independent scene and then moving to AEW. Since moving to the Tony Khan-led company, she has found success as she holds the TBS Championship.
Mr. McMahon on Netflix has a lot of elements, but the one that caught Mone’s attention was when Shane McMahon was involved. She gave her thoughts on the docuseries in the latest edition of her MoneMag, where she wrote:
"The portion where I think many of us were trying to figure out was Vince's relationship with Shane. It seemed like a generational cycle, watching Vince's relationship with his own father. I could see a young man in Shane who just wanted to make his Dad proud, as Vince seemed to be with his own father. To see Shane's passion for that, as well as his passion for wrestling, moved me." AEW star Mercedes Mone reveals kind Vince McMahon gesture
AEW star Mercedes Mone had many great matches during her time in WWE, but she revealed that she got the biggest hug from Vince McMahon after one particular match.
The match was from WrestleMania 37, where Mercedes and Bianca Belair were in the main event. The AEW star revealed how McMahon reacted after the match in the same edition of MoneMag.
"But probably, the most memorable best praise I ever received from Vince was after WrestleMania and my main event with Bianca. He gave me the biggest hug, and I honestly think he was teary-eyed. He was so happy with our performance and said that we deserved the main event. It felt incredible inside to hear those words," she said.
